Happy Monday Guys! Ready for a bonus post today? India celebrates her 71st Independence Day on this Wednesday, the 15th of August. I and a couple of blogger friends of mine wanted to pay our tributes to our beloved tri-color. So what better than dressing up in the colors of our tri-color right?! Also, orange and green aren’t the easiest colors to work with together. So we thought we could also give you guys some ideas on how you can wear them together.
Shalini went with a color-blocked route and added white accessories to ground the look. The bell bottom pants add a fun element to this look that you can easily wear to work on 15th August.
Sushma thinks saree is the sassiest and a classy outfit which will never go out of fashion. It can be draped in different styles and this time she chose this Indo-Western style by pairing with a bell-sleeve eyelet top and a modern drape style to add that chic glamour.
When I was thinking of what I would wear to an Indian Independence day party, I knew I didn’t want to go the traditional salwar-kameez outfit because that would be very easy. So I looked in my closet to find any pieces in any of the tri-color colors. And I found this really old green skirt I had from Forever 21. I built my outfit around it. Since the skirt was formal I wanted to dress it down. So I added a white tee. The orange sunglasses add the pop of saffron without being too obvious. Because the outfit already had two striking colors I kept the accessories in neutrals. The black fringe earrings reminded me of the traditional jhumkas and they were the perfect finishing touch to the look.
